In Bad Homburg there is a supermarket (rewe) situated very close to the train station. Walk over the forecourt of the station, cross the traffic lights, cross the ring road (take stairs or elevator), then you reach the City Hall Square (Rathausplatz). At the corner on the left (in the Town Hall shopping arcade = Rathaus-Ladengalerie) is the supermarket called "rewe" with a good range. I can definitely recommend the "Fleischkäsebrötchen" (meat cheese bread) as a snack. :-)

The restaurant "Zur Klosterschänke" is located very close to the castle and also directly at the car park "Castle Garage". Here you can eat good + cheap. It offers Bavarian cuisine. *** Opening times *** Tuesday to Thursday: 1600-2300 h Friday to Sunday: 1200-2300 h Closed on Mondays

Those who like soups and stews, this is the right place! The price structure will maybe shock you. The serving size is 0.4 liters and you have a to expect a price of EUR 5-6. For the money you get elsewhere maybe (almost?) a "real" food. But prices in the Rhine-Main area are just different. As such, it fits for the region. It is always well visited. Why? Because it tastes very good there!
