1a Travelling from Halmstad (Sweden) to Munich (Germany)

Deutsche Bahn offers train tickets from selected destinations in Sweden to Germany, called "Sparpreis Europa". The ticket fare starts at 37 EUR.

These train tickets are available from cities such as Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malmö to Germany. They always include transit through Denmark on InterCity, EuroCity and ICE trains. From Sweden to Copenhagen, tickets are only available for travel on SJ high-speed trains (marked "X2000" when booking) or Öresundståg trains.

1b Travelling from Munich (Germany) to Dubrovnik (Croatia)

Train tickets from Germany to Zagreb and other selected railway stations in Croatia are available from Deutsche Bahn (German railways).

These saver fare tickets "Sparpreis Europa" are available from 39 EUR. If you travel to cities in Croatia where no saver fare ticket is available to buy on Internet, buy a train ticket until the last possible railway station. From there buy a ticket of Croatian railways to your final travel destination.

The Munich to Zagreb night train is a comfortable travel option.

2a Travelling from Halmstad (Sweden) to Stockholm (Sweden)

To travel in Sweden by train, please buy your ticket via one of the following booking links. There you find exact schedules and ticket prices. If you book early in advance, you will get attractive discount prices. Beside the Swedish state railway SJ, several operators are available. It is usually no problem to buy your ticket in one step even using different operators. For long-distance travel, use one of the comfortable night train connections. Often tickets are also available at ticket machines or kiosks.

2b Travelling from Stockholm (Sweden) to Copenhagen (Denmark)

To travel from Stockholm to Copenhagen by train, you have frequent direct SJ X2000/Snabbtåg trains - at least every two hours. The journey time is about five hours. More connections are available with change in Malmö including an Öresundståg on the second part.

There is even the option to use a night train: first by SJ night train NT1 from Stockholm to Malmö. There you change to an Öresundståg via the Öresund Bridge to Copenhagen.

2c Travelling from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Munich (Germany)

To travel from Denmark to Germany by train, use one of the daily connections which usually runs via Hamburg. Please use the following booking links to find schedules and ticket prices. The "Europe Special" price of Deutsche Bahn is available from EUR 39. As earlier you book, as cheaper the prices are.

If you want to include a night train, there is currently only one IC train travelling overnight from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Hamburg (Germany). In 2021 a new line will open from Stockholm via Copenhagen to Hamburg and Berlin.

2e Travelling from Zagreb (Croatia) to Dubrovnik (Croatia)

Travel from Zagreb to Dubrovnik by a combination of train and bus. Your journey can include an overnight train. The journey time is 11 hours. The ticket price starts at 30 EUR.

First you travel from Zagreb to Split by train. You have these travel options:

1) Travel by day train from Zagreb to Split.
There are two train connections per day. You travel by ICN train with air-condition. It is a very scenic route with rivers, lakes and mountains. The ticket price starts at 99 HRK (14 EUR). A seat reservation is required and included in the ticket price (1 EUR).
The departure time in Zagreb is 07:35 (only June to September) and 15:20. The arrival time in Split is 13:50 and 21:30.

2) The overnight train from Zagreb to Split.
The departure time in Zagreb is 23:05. The arrival time in Split is 07:05. The ticket price starts at 120 HRK.
The night train offers the following service categories:
- standard seat in 2nd class
- shared compartments with 6 beds
- private compartments with 3, 2 or 1 bed

In Split you change to a bus to Dubrovnik. The journey time is 4 hours. The bus ticket price starts at 13 EUR. There are frequent bus connections available.
