1d Travelling from Nynäshamn (Sweden) to Gdańsk (Poland)

To travel the direct way from Sweden to Poland, make use of a ferry. There are two main travel routes available.

A) Stockholm/Nynäshamn to Gdansk
Travel by train to Stockholm. Use a direct suburban train from Stockholm main railway station to Nynäshamn (1:15 hours, 3 EUR). From Nynäshamn (Sweden) continue by ferry to Gdansk (Poland). The journey time of the ferry is 18 hours. Ferry tickets are available from 69 EUR.

B) Ystad to Świnoujście
Travel by train to Ystad. In Ystad, have a short walk from the railway station to the ferry terminal. From Ystad (Sweden) continue by ferry to Świnoujście (Poland). The journey time of the ferry is 5:30 hours. Ferry tickets are available from 34 EUR.

Continue by train from Gdansk or Świnoujście to your final travel destination in Poland.

You need three tickets in total.

1) One train ticket from your departure railway station to Stockholm or Ystad.

2) One ferry ticket from Sweden to Poland.

3) One train ticket from the ferry port to your final travel destination.

2b Travelling from Narvik (Norway) to Stockholm (Sweden)

Travel from Narvik to Stockholm by direct overnight train NT93. The journey time is 18:10 hours. Train tickets are available from 50 EUR (500 SEK).

The departure time in Narvik is at 15:15. The arrival time in Stockholm at 09:20.

The night train offers seats in open-seating-cars which are spacious and cozy. More relaxing are the couchette compartments with six berths. And sleeper compartments which you can book for 1, 2 or 3 persons. There is a spacious, clean shower available for sleeping car travellers with free towels.

All in all a very comfortable overnight train with scenic views In Lapland, especially on the part of the route between Narvik and Kiruna.
