1b Travelling from Zagreb (Croatia) to Goražde (Bosnia-Herzegovina)

If you want to travel from Croatia to Bosnia-Herzegovina by train, buy your ticket locally at a station. There are no online tickets available.

The only international service to Bosnia-Herzegovina is the train from Zagreb to Sarajevo. Unfortunately, this connection has been suspended in December 2016.
All other international lines have been closed for several years.

At the moment, it is only possible to get to Bosnia-Herzegovina by bus.

To travel from Switzerland to Austria by train, use one of the frequent train connections. The direct Railjet trains offer as well discount tickets. 2b Travelling from Villach (Austria) to Ljubljana (Slovenia)

Online tickets are available from Austrian Railways (ÖBB). Tickets can be bought directly at a railway station as well.

There are two main border crossings with several direct trains: From Vienna via Graz to Maribor and Ljubljana and from Innsbruck and Salzburg or Vienna to Villach, from where you can go via Bled to Ljubljana.

2c Travelling from Ljubljana (Slovenia) to Zagreb (Croatia)

If you want to travel from Slovenia to Croatia by train, buy your ticket locally at a train station in Slovenia. There are several discounted tickets available, for instance the Zagreb Spezial from Ljubljana to Zagreb: single 9€, return 18€. Tickets are not available online, only at stations.

There are several railway lines between Slovenia and Croatia, the most important being the main line from Ljubljana to Zagreb via the Dobova/Savski Marof border crossing. Here you will find several international express trains. Other major international lines run from Ljubljana to Rijeka and from Ljubljana to Pula.
