Macedonia Square / Скоп'є

The Makedonija Square is the center of Skopje.

A statue of Alexander the Great is centrally located on this square. This huge statue is located inside a fountain, which is lit up at night. Even classic imperialist music is played occasionally in the background through speakers.

Furthermore, there is the historic stone bridge, as well as the archaeological museum in the immediate vicinity of the square. Within walking distance you find the national parliament, the Holocaust Memorial, the Mother Theresa house, a great triumphal arch, as well as the old and new city - each in different directions easy to reach.
