Pilgrimages in Rome / Rooma

During our visit to Rome we found some colored dots as markers on the pavement, which we could not be identify initially - nothing was mentioned in our guide.

On our day of departure we discovered (at the airport) a postcard on which the four routes, which are marked by the different colored dots was printed and the stations were named. (see photo)

At home chcking it in the internet, we found out that these dots are not made for walking tours, but for pilgrimage routes in Rome.
