Balkani flexi pass

The Balkan Flexi Pass (BFP) is a rail pass for unlimited travel in the following countries of south-eastern Europe: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey. The BFP is very similar to the Interrail Global Flexi passes as it offers a certain amount of travel days within a period of one month. The pass is valid on all trains operated by the national railway companies and on some ferries between Greece and Italy.

The Balkan Flexi Pass is available with 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 travel days within two months. As with an Interrail Pass you have to fill in a travel day in the travel calendar prior to boarding the first train on that day. Additionally the travel report has to be filled in with all trips that you take (departure and arrival station, date and time).

We recommend to buy the BFP locally at a train station in one of the participating countries (they are not available in other countries). Passes are also offered online by third parties which sell them at much higher rates than locally and often offer 1st class passes only. The fares in the table below are valid when buying the ticket locally at a station.

As mentioned above, the general rules are almost identical to Interrail Global passes. Travel days have to be filled in prior to boarding the first train on that day and the travel report has to be filled in too. The 19:00-rule for night trains applies, meaning that if you board a night train after 19:00 you only have to fill in the following day as travel day.
The most important difference is that the country in which you buy the pass is considered your "country of residence" where only one trip to and from the border are included in the pass.
