RU Russia - FR France

There are two direct long-distance night trains from Russia to France. One train runs from Moscow via Germany to Paris and the second one from Moscow via Austria and Italy to Nice. Both do not run daily. Tickets are available from 220 EUR. The ticket price depends on your travel date and the comfort class. The journey time is about 36 hours.

Travel from Russia to Japan including a ferry on the route from Vladivostok (Russia) to Sakaiminato (Japan). The ferry connection runs once per week with two nights on board via South-Korea (Donghae). Both cities, Vladivostok (Russia) and Sakaiminato (Japan), are connected to the national rail network.

Travel from Russia to North Korea by direct train. There is once per week one overnight train from Moscow to North Korea.

Twice per month by North-Korean national railways from Moscow to Pyongyang. And twice per month by of Russian railways from Moscow to Tumangang. Tumangang is the border station between Russia and North-Korea, located in North-Korea. From Tumangang you have a direct train connection to Pyongyang.

Since 2017 it seems to be possible for individual travellers to enter North Korea via this route. But your organized trip in North Korea has to fit the departure/arrival times of the trains from/to Moscow.

To travel from Russia to South Korea, you have to include a ferry for example on the route from Vladivostok (Russia) to Donghae (South Korea). There is one ferry connection per week with one night on board.

Vladivostok (Russia) and Donghae (South Korea) are connected to the national rail network.

You need three tickets in total. From your departure railway station to Vladivostok. One ticket for the ferry crossing: the economy class ticket is about 150 EUR. And one ticket from Donghae to your final destination train station in South Korea.
