Parc Jouvet
The "Parc Jouvet" is a very beautiful, 7-hectare park in the center of Valence. It is considered one of the most beautiful parks in the Rhône Valley. The park has 800 species of trees, canals, fountains, animal enclosures and numerous seating. Very well suited for relaxation, approximately 5 minutes walk from Valence-Ville train station. Opening times: November to January: 08:00-17:30 h October February-April: 07:30-18:00 h May to September: 07:00-20:00 h
Kiosque Peynet & Champ de Mars
The "Kiosque Peynet" (under monument protection) is located on the "Champ de Mars", a small garden between the old town and the "Parc Jouvet". The "Kiosque Peynet" was built in 1862 by the architect Eugène Poitoux, who became famous, however, in 1942 due to the painter Raymond Peynet. Through him, the story of "Amoureux de Peynet" originated. From here you have a great view towards the Ardèche department.
Parc Saint-Ruf
The "Parc Saint-Ruf" is a small park in the center of Valence. Up to a bombardment on August 15, 1944, here was the Prefecture of the Drome region. Today only the gate left, which is now the entrance to the park.
