1a Travelling from Vilnius (Lithuania) to Warsaw (Poland)

To travel from Lithuania to Poland by train, you have currently only one train connection on weekends. Therefore the journey by bus is the most comfortable way.

If you want to travel by train, first buy a train ticket of Lithuanian railways from your departure station to Bialystok. And a second train ticket from Polish railways from Bialystok to your travel destination in Poland.

Calculate with a train ticket price of 22 EUR for the journey from Vilnius via Bialystok to Warsaw.

1b Travelling from Warsaw (Poland) to Budapest (Hungary)

Travel from Warsaw to Budapest by train. There exists one direct day train and one direct overnight train. More train connections are available with a change of trains. The journey time is 10:30 hours. The ticket price starts at 19 EUR.

1) Travel by day train connection.
The journey time is 10:30 hours. The departure time in Warsaw is 08:50. The arrival time in Budapest is 19:20. The ticket price starts at 19 EUR.

2) Travel by overnight train EN477.
The departure time in Warsaw is 19:45. The arrival time in Budapest is 08:30. The train offers the following service categories:
- standard seats from 19 EUR.
- shared compartments with 4 or 6 beds from 49/59 EUR.
- private compartments with 3, 2 or 1 bed (optional with private shower and toilet) from 69/89/129 EUR.

1c Travelling from Budapest (Hungary) to Belgrade (Serbia)

Travel from Hungary to Serbia by direct train on the route from Budapest to Belgrade.

2021: the direct route Budapest to Novi Sad and on to Belgrade is under construction. The best option is to travel by train from Budapest to Zagreb and from Zagreb to Belgrade if you want to avoid changes and buses.

1d Travelling from Belgrade (Serbia) to Prizren (Kosovo)

The travel from Serbia to Kosovo by direct train is not possible. You have to travel with a bus.

If you want to include trains, you have these two travel options:

1) Serbian Railways run two daily trains from Kraljevo (Serbia) to Kosovska Mitrovica in the north part of Kosovo. From Kosovska Mitrovica continue by bus or minibus.
The departure times in Kraljevo are 06:50 and 14:40. The arrival times in Kosovska Mitrovica are 10:22 and 18:22.

2) Or you travel by train or bus from Niš to the Serbian border town of Merdare. There you travel by taxi to Podujeve (Kosovo). From Podujeve you continue by bus or minibus.

Buy the train ticket at a railway station. Note: in some countries you have to pay a service fee at the ticket counter. The ticket can be purchased at a station in the country of departure, also sometimes in other countries.
