1b Travelling from Berlin (Germany) to Budapest (Hungary)

Travel from Berlin to Budapest by train. Train tickets start from 29 EUR. A comfortable overnight train is available. The journey time by the direct day train is 11 hours.

The night train offers as cheapest category seats from 29 EUR. More comfortable is a berth in compartments for 4 or 6 persons. Or a sleeper compartment which you can book for one to three persons. The departure time in Berlin is 18:40. The arrival time in Budapest Keleti railway station is 08:35.

Train ticket fares for the direct day train start from 46,90 EUR. The departure time in Berlin is 09:15. The arrival time in Budapest is 20:20.

They offer a variety of discounts for one way and return journeys as well as the cheap advance fare "Fortuna" tickets. Online tickets from MAV START have to be printed from ticket machines at stations in Hungary! Of course you can buy all tickets at international ticket desks at stations in Hungary as well.

International services run mainly from Budapest via the Lököshaza/Curtici border crossing to Arad and from there either to Timisoara and onwards to Craiova and Bucharest or via Simeria - Sibiu/Sighisoara - Brasov to Bucharest. Additional international express trains run via the Biharkresztes/Episcopia Bihor border crossing to Oradea - Cluj Napoca - Brasov.

2b Travelling from Munich (Germany) to Budapest (Hungary)

To travel from Munich to Budapest by train use one of the direct Railjet trains. Train tickets are available as "Sparpreis Europa" (saver price) from 39 EUR. The journey times is seven hours. The Railjet trains offer at least five direct connections per day.

There is a night train available as well offering tickets from 29 EUR. The journey time of the night train is 9:30 hours.

3b Travelling from Cologne (Germany) to Vienna (Austria)

Travel from Cologne to Vienna by direct day train connection or more comfortable by overnight train.

The journey time by ICE day train connection is 8:50 hours. Train tickets are available from 37 EUR. The departure times in Cologne are 07:50 and 09:50. The arrival times in Vienna main station at 16:45 and 18:45.

The overnight train "ÖBB nightjet" offers the following service classes:
- Seats. Tickets fares from 29 EUR.
- Couchettes: compartments with berths for 4 or 6 passengers. Tickets fares from 49 EUR.
