Calanque de Port-Miou

The Calanques in the French department of Bouches-du-Rhône are small, fjord-like bays with very clear water where you can swim very well. The Calanque de Port-Miou, now extended to a small marina, is the only Calanque which belongs to Cassis. All other Calanques are at the metropolitan area of Marseille, although some are much faster to reach from Cassis. On foot it takes about 30 minutes from the center of Cassis to Calanque Port-Miou. Note: in July and August, the trails in the Calanques are are closed due to the high fire danger!

Jardin Public

The "Jardin Public" is a nice little garden with a pond. Here are also a playground, public (free!) toilets and numerous seating options. The garden is open usually Monday-Friday 08:00-20:00 h.

Beach of Bestouan

Plage du Bestouan

The "Plage du Bestouan" is a beautiful beach in Cassis, which can be reached in about 10 minutes' walk from the city center. It is not as central as the main beach, but it is much quieter. In the summer months there is rescue personnel at the beach. It offers toilets, showers and a first-aid post.
