Barz Vlak/Fast Train (BV)

Barz Vlak or Fast train are express trains operating on the main lines in Bulgaria. They are the backbone of the railway network offering the fastest journey times.

Barz Vlak usually consist of older, refurbished coaches. Bulgarian Railways use different types of coaches with either compartments or seats in open-plan arrangement.

- 2nd and 1st class seats available (four seats per row/eight seats per compartment in 2nd class; three seats per row/six seats per row in 1st class)
- bicycle transportation possible on all trains
- facilites for passengers with reduced mobility only on selected services

Seat reservation is not compulsory.
