The fortress of Skopje is one of the city's attractions and is located near the central Makedonija Square. The fortress is located on a hill, from which one has a good view over large parts of the city. The oldest part of the fortress is the walling, which is 121 meters long, as well as some associated towers. A visit to the fort is free (as of October 2015).
