Café Steigleder

On the island Foehr, you should definitely try the "Frisian cake" (Friesentorte). You won't get it everywhere, but you get it at the Café Steigleder. The cafe is generally very popular and thus very busy. It is very difficult to nearly impossible to get a free table (at least for the "regular" coffee time around 15:00/16:00 h plus in good weather; in bad weather and around 17:00/18:00, you may succeed). From the two tables right by the window in the dining room, you have a fantastic view of the North Sea, to the islets and the incoming and outgoing ferries. The two tables in the second row offer as well a good view. *** Opening times *** daily from 09:00 to 19:00 h open every day in the main season; otherwise the rest day is Wednesdays

Café Südstrand

A little off the beaten track. Pleasant. You can sit, have a drink and enjoy the view of the sea and to the Hallig. Small dishes are also on offer (fried eg with potato, pea soup, etc. - about 5 EUR)

In March 2015 newly opened café (housed in the former "village pub"). Now everything is nicely decorated, bright and friendly. Feel-good atmosphere. They offer great pies :-) *** Opening times *** 13:00 until 19:00 h

Oldsum can be reached from Wyk either by bus or bike. The café is open in the afternoons.

Quite adorable café. Initially the hight prices stopped us to go there: double espresso = 5.60 EUR + a piece of cake = 5,40 EUR Total ... 11.00 EUR !!! But you must have been here. Those who do not go there, were not on Foehr ;-) The somewhat self-willed appearing owner lady decorated everything with much attention to detail. A real gem! *** Opening times *** Open daily from 13:30 to 18:00 h.

Alte Druckerei

I discovered by chance this location, because it is quite tucked away in a tiny alley. Nice ambience, in the summer there is also a small terrace. From time to time there are cultural events such as readings.

Café Klein Helgoland

Beyond the port, which is slightly away from the tourist bustle on the promenade. Nevertheless it is frequented. There are only a tiny dining room and a small winter garden and if the weather is good, a small terrace. To get a place is a matter of luck. One has the view of the sea, but - be very gray and can be very boring - depending on weather conditions. I can recommend the apple punch (with cream, but non-alcoholic) for EUR 3.50. The prices for Cappuccino are much too expensive. Small one for EUR 4, big one for EUR 7. One can eat here as well. But I did not tested it personally. *** Opening times *** July, August, September, from Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 21:30 h April, May, June, October, from Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 20:00 h January, February, March, November, December, from Friday to Sunday from 11:00 to 20:00 h They provide hot meals and brunch - with reservation - from 11:00 h.

In the lovely furnished Frisian house (Friesenhaus) from 1837 you will find a mix of country style and Frisian tradition. A "Töpferstube" is next door and the hand-rolled ceramics are also sold here in the café. Open from 11:30 until 18:00 h (in winter closed on Mondays + Tuesdays).

Café right at the church. Nice ambience. At nice weather you can sit outside. Open from 13:00 until 18:00 h. Wednesday is rest day.

Kurhauscafé

On the island Foehr, you should definitely try the "Frisian cake" (Friesentorte). Not available everywhere, but in the "Kurhauscafé". The cafe is generally very popular and thus very busy. It is very difficult to nearly impossible to get a free table. Popular are also the seats at the tables with the beach chairs on the green center strip right on the promenade (very close to the bandstand).

Café & Bistro Aquamarin

Located directly on the beach promenade. Beautiful view of the sea and to the islets. The opening times vary through the year. In August/September they already opened from 09:00 h. There are also months in which they does not open before 10:00 or 11:00 h.
