Cathédrale Saint-Apollinaire
The "Cathédrale Saint-Apollinaire" is one of the oldest monuments of Valence. It is since 1862 under monument protection. The cathedral was consecrated in 1095 by Pope Urban II. Inside the cathedral there is a bust of Pope Pius VI, who died in Valence. Open daily from 08:00-19:00 h!
Maison des Têtes
The "Maison des Têtes" is built at the beginning of the 16th century. The building shows the architectural transition from Flamboyant Gothic to Renaissance. Due to the numerous head sculptures on the facade, in the passage to the courtyard and the patio itself, it is called "House of Heads". In the building there is an exhibition on the history of Valence. Le Pendentif
The "Pendentif" is a worth seeing grave monument from the year 1548. It was built for the canons Nicolas Mistral and his family and is already since 1840 as a "Monument historique". The "Pendentif" is located right next to the "Cathédrale Saint-Apollinaire".
Maison Mauresque
The "Maison Mauresque" is an atypical building, which was built in 1858 by entrepreneur Charles Ferlin. It distinguishes itself through its Oriental facade. The "Maison Mauresque" is located in the "Rue Gaston Rey", a side street of the "Grande Rue".
Église Saint-Jean
The "Église Saint-Jean" is a church with an interesting bell tower in the center of Valence. Since 4 August 1978 the church is a "Monument historique". Open daily from 08:00-19:00 h!
