1) From Stockholm to Hamburg by Snälltåget overnight train. The journey time is 17 hours. The departure time in Stockholm is 16:30. The arrival time in Hamburg is 06:00. The train offers the following service classes:

- reclining seat: a wider seat with less travellers in the wagon. The ticket price starts from 74 EUR.
- bed in a private compartment.

2) By a day train connection with change in Copenhagen. The German railways Deutsche Bahn offers discount price tickets from 56 EUR. The journey time is 10 hours. You travel as follows:
- from Stockholm to Copenhagen by X2000 Snabbtåg high-speed-train. The journey time is 5:15 hours.
- from Copenhagen to Hamburg by Intercity/Eurocity train. The journey time is 4:30 hours.

Travel from Hamburg to Paris by ICE, Thalys and TGV INOUI high-speed-trains. The ticket price starts at 39 EUR. The journey times is 8:20 hours. There are at least five train connections per day with only one change of trains.

If you want to include an overnight train, travel the following route:

- Hamburg to Basel by ÖBB nightjet overnight train. The ticket price starts at 29 EUR. The journey time is 11 hours.
- Basel to Paris by TGV Lyria train. The ticket price starts at 29 EUR. The journey time is three hours.

Paris - Hamburg

1c Travelling from Paris (France) to Barcelona (Spain)

To travel from Paris to Barcelona, the fastest option is by direct TGV high-speed train. There are two direct trains with a journey time of about 6,5 hours. Train tickets are available from 49 EUR. You find the exact schedule and saver-fares via our booking links. We recommend to book early as otherwise the ticket prices are high.

The direct night train does not exist anymore. To travel overnight, travel first by night train from Paris to Latour de Carol (ticket via our booking links). There you change to a local train directly to Barcelona. The so called "Rodalies Barcelona" costs 12 EUR. The ticket is available at a ticket machine and inside of the train.

2a Travelling from Stockholm (Sweden) to Copenhagen (Denmark)

To travel from Stockholm to Copenhagen by train, you have frequent direct SJ X2000/Snabbtåg trains - at least every two hours. The journey time is about five hours. More connections are available with change in Malmö including an Öresundståg on the second part.

There is even the option to use a night train: first by SJ night train NT1 from Stockholm to Malmö. There you change to an Öresundståg via the Öresund Bridge to Copenhagen.

3a Travelling from Stockholm (Sweden) to Malmö (Sweden)

To travel in Sweden by train, please buy your ticket via one of the following booking links. There you find exact schedules and ticket prices. If you book early in advance, you will get attractive discount prices. Beside the Swedish state railway SJ, several operators are available. It is usually no problem to buy your ticket in one step even using different operators. For long-distance travel, use one of the comfortable night train connections. 3b Travelling from Malmö (Sweden) to Hamburg (Germany)

Deutsche Bahn offers train tickets from selected destinations in Sweden to Germany, called "Sparpreis Europa". The ticket fare starts at 37 EUR.

These train tickets are available from cities such as Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malmö to Germany. They always include transit through Denmark on InterCity, EuroCity and ICE trains. From Sweden to Copenhagen, tickets are only available for travel on SJ high-speed trains (marked "X2000" when booking) or Öresundståg trains.
