1b Eurail: Travelling from Patras (Greece) to Ancona (Italy)

If you are travelling with Eurail you can use the ferries between Greece and Italy across the Adriatic for free. You only have to pay port taxes and fuel surcharges and if you want to sleep in a cabin on board the ferries. Minoan Lines and Superfast Ferries operate ferries from Patras via Igoumenitsa to Bari, Ancona, Venice and Trieste.

Reservation booking is possible online via the websites of the ferry operators, via email and phone as well as directly at the ferry ports.

1c Eurail: Travelling from Ancona (Italy) to Paris (France)

With Eurail you have several daily train connections from Italy to France. You have good connections from every city in Italy to Milan. From there either directly to Paris (extra reservation required) or along the Mediterranean Sea (free trains available). You can use as well the night train from Venice and Milan to Paris for which you get a discount with Eurail.

1d Eurail: Travelling from Paris (France) to London (United Kingdom)

To travel from Paris to London by Eurail, you have to use the direct Eurostar train. The journey time is about 2:30 h.
Eurostar reservations for Eurail are available as e-ticket via the given booking links.

An other travel option is to use a bus (not included in Eurail!). The journey is much longer, but sometimes it might be cheaper than an Eurostar reservation. Flixbus runs this route several times per day (also over-night), but as well other bus companies.

The journey by train and including the ferry Calais (France) to Dover (United Kingdom) is for now no nice option anymore. The journey is long and the ferry got really expensive for foot passengers since several years.
