The Alaunstraße (it starts right at the Erich Kästner monument) leads into the heart of the district. It links to the Louisenstraße, which can be described as the "main street" of the district.

In the Outer Neustadt is the largest closed Gründerzeitviertel Germany.

Those looking for the Erich Kästner Museum ... it is not located at the Erich Kästner monument but diagonally across the square.
