To travel from Greece to Italy, you have to take the ferries of Minoan Lines or Superfast Ferries. These run from Patras via Igoumenitsa to Bari, Ancona, Trieste and Venice. All ferry ports except Igoumenitsa have railway connections.
Patras is located on the Peloponnes and has a railway connection from Athens. However, on the last part of the line between Kiato and Patras currently a replacement bus service is operating. Igoumenitsa is located in the north of Greece and has bus connections from Kalambaka and Thessaloniki.
From Bari and Ancona you will find frequent train connections along the Adriatic coast and across Italy to cities such as Rome, Naples, Florence, Bologna and Milan.
