Infact, that's only one couchette car attached at the very end of train Venezia - Budapest, which is detached in Zagreb, an attached to morning train Zagreb - Beograd.

Hi
I will be travelling with a group of five friends, and we plan to take this night train on the 15th of July and disembark at Zagreb. I have some questions:
1) Is this train route still in service, and will it still be in service in July?
2) When can we book a 6-bed couchette?
3) Where do we go to book it? Can we do it online?

Thanks a lot,

Kieran

Hi!

1) Yes
2) Usually up to 3 months in advance.
3) I suppose you are travelling with InterRail, right? You cant do it online, but you should be able to bokk it at major stations throughout central Europe, ie at Venezia. Note that this connection is by a through coach, meaning that it will be detached from the Venezia - Budapest in Zagreb at night and then attached to the Zagreb - Beograd train. This train to Beograd leaves at 0602 so you could sleep a little longer if you want to - but then you have to be careful to get your reservations in the coach to Beograd, not in those to Budapest! ;) There is only one couchette car to Beograd with the number 423 so check your reservation for that number. It can be that the computer wont allow to make a reservation to Zagreb on this coach, in that case ask for a reservation for a station after Zagreb and just leave the train in Zagreb.
If you want to save a little money and dont mind sitting upright during the night you can also use the standard seating accomodation on the Venezia - Budapest section: https://rail.cc/en/venice-budapest-night-train/f1487

Hi and welcome to railcc!

No, this night train is not running anymore.

You have only the option of the night train from Ljubljana via Zagreb to Belgrade: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/villach-belgrade-d-315-411/174[/ux]
