I have an Interrail Global Pass, and I need to make a reservation from Domodossola to Lausanne for Friday 18th, on the 9.58 EC. I need to travel at this time to make connections later in the day. I was not able to do this over the interrail reservation service, nor is it proving possible to make reservations via Trenitalia web site. What is the best way of doing this? Thanks.

Hi Gunter and welcome to rail.cc :)

The EC Milan to Switzerland (which you will use on this connection) requires the reservation only on the Italian part. It is free in Switzerland. https://rail.cc/it/interrail-prenotazione-treni/eurocity-sbb-italia/65
I\'m not sure (Flo who is currently travelling himself or someone else knows better), but I think the train is even free on from Domodossola in direction of Switzerland.
Otherwise you have a swell free regional trains.

In general: if you want to buy a reservation, just do it at a train station, no need to buy it online all the time. :)
If you want to support the free information we offer here on rail.cc, please buy your Interrail pass via our partner link at no additional fees for you: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]

Hi!

Domodossola is the border station; no reservation is needed from Domodossola towards any Swiss station. Anyways, the train can be quite full, so if you want a guaranteed seat you can buy your reservation locally at a train station.
