Hello everyone,
I want to go travelling so badly. Therefore I plan to go on a 22 days journey on my own starting 01.08 this year.
Unfortunately, I don\'t have much money. Now I am wondering if I would be able to travel with €700 for 22 day. Is that possible if I plan on sleeping in hostels every night?
I want to see as many things as possible and just get out of my little town.
I appreciate every kind of advice from u guys.

Hi Tekolino and welcome to rail.cc,

where do you want to travel to? Should the 700€ also cover tickets plus reservations or only accomodation, food etc?

700€ for 22 days roughly equals about 30€ per day which is not very much if you want to travel in Western Europe. Check out hostels prices in the cities you want to travel to on [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] to get a feeling how expensive or cheap some cities are.
If you have to save money couchsurfing would be an option however I would recommend to start looking for hosts early enough.

Generally travelling is cheaper in the south and east compared to the north and west, however there are exceptions of course - Portugal for instance is quite cheap.

Support our work by using our partner links, such as [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] for booking hostels or [ux]http://rail.shop/interrail/[/ux] for buying your Interrail ticket - thank you! :)

Hello Flo,
thank you for your fast reply!
I just want to travel wherever I feel to in this moment and I expect having arround 1100€ - the Ticket would cost about 400€ so that I have 700€ left for reservations, food and hostels.
Also I\'d to know if reservations are necessary. Can\'t you travell from one big city to another big city without using a high-speed train or would it take too much time compared to the high-speed trains?

Well, I would recommend to go with the 10 days in one month pass: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-global-pass[/ux]
This would save you 84€ compared to the 22 days continuous pass and 10 travel days within a period of 22 days still is enough to discover many different cities and places.

Regarding reservations - this depends on where you want to go. In France, Spain and Italy, high speed trains offer fast connections between most larger cities but cost around 10€ for a reservation. Details: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation[/ux]
In most countries (except for Spain) it is no problem travelling with slower regional trains without reservation; you should always compare the price of a reservation with the time you gain; for instance from Paris to Marseille you can invest 10€ (or 20€) in a TGV reservation that takes you there in 3 hours or travel by regional trains and need 10 to twelve hours. Did you consider couchsurfing? I did a few times, that would save you a lot of money and you\'ll be having great meetups as well!
