There exists a huge "living room" downstairs with couches, computers with internet and long tables with chairs where you can eat breakfast or you can cook for yourself in the directly connected kitchen. A "cinema room" where you can choose a movie to watch with people you meet at the hostel. Breakfast for EUR 2,50 - not something overwhelming but simple and good. It's located pretty much in the centre of Barcelona (from what I can remember there is a tube station a few meters away).
