Hi,

the journey is about 21 hours each option: you can use the night train from bar to belgrad and then the day train from belgrade to budapest or day train bar-belgrad (which is an interesting journey) and night train belgrad-budapest. With the second option you have also more thime to change the trains in belgrad, can be important if the first train has got a delay.

Hi.
Both combinations Tobi mentioned above have its advantages.

Bar - Belgrade

All in all the route Bar to Belgrade is one of the most scenic ones, therefore I would travel by day train. Read also our blog: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/bar-belgrade-train-tito/[/ux]
Where to buy the ticket from Bar to Belgrade and reverse: you have to buy it at a station which is usually also possible at stations outside of both countries.

Prices for one-way Bar-Belgrade or reverse
Ticket fare 2nd-class: EUR 21 / 1st class: 31,80
Seat reservation: EUR 3
Couchette (6-beds): EUR 6
Sleeper 3 / 2 / 1 bed(s): EUR 15 / 20 / 45

Information to the night train: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/bar-belgrade-b432/146

Belgrade - Budapest

There is the "Budapest/Belgrade special" available for Euro 15 one-way. Only at the station and available even at the day of departure. Read our blog: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/budapest-belgrade-train/[/ux]

The night train offers couchettes for additional Euro 8 (6-berths) or Euro 10 (4-beths - and recommended).
