To travel from Bulgaria to Romania by train, buy your train ticket locally at a train station in Bulgaria. You will find international ticket counters at the train stations of larger cities (Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Varna). At many stations, international tickets are sold at specific ticket offices, called RILA agencies, which are separate from the domestic ticket offices. There are no online tickets available.

There are two rail connections between Bulgaria and Romania, both cross the Danube on a large bridge: from Ruse to Giurgiu, where the train from Sofia to Bucharest runs and from Vidin to Calafat.

2c Travelling from Sofia (Bulharsko) to Belehrad (Srbsko)

If you want to travel from Bulgaria to Serbia by train, buy your train ticket locally at a train station in Bulgaria. You will find international ticket counters at the train stations of larger cities (Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Varna). The only rail connection between the two countries is the line from Sofia to Nis via the border stations of Kalotina and Dimitrovgrad.
