Most long-distance trains are overnight trains with different types of sleeper accomodation. On some routes between major cities there are also long-distance day trains with seats only.

To travel by train from the Ukraine to Azerbaijan there are two direct trains per week between Kiev or Kharkiv (Ukraine) and Baku (Azerbaijan). The journey time for this route is about 52 hours. Ticket price starts from about Euro 90.
Train tickets for the journey from Ukraine to Azerbaijan are available via Ukrainian Railways and at train stations.
There are several direct trains between Ukraine and Minsk, running from cities such as Lviv, Kyiv, Odessa and Kharkiv to Minsk. These trains all run overnight and usually consist of different types of sleeping cars. Tickets are available online from Ukrainian Railways or from train stations.
To travel from Ukraine to Georgia, first go by train to Odessa (Ukraine). Take a taxi, mini-bus or bus to the Port of Chornomorsk, 20 kilometres in the south of Odessa. From Chornomorsk continue by ferry via the Black Sea to Batumi. The journey time is about 48 hours. Ticket price starts from USD 110. In Batumi walk to the railway station and continue.
To travel from Ukraine to Hungary by train, buy your ticket at a train station. There are no online tickets available. However it is possible to buy first an online ticket from Ukraine to the border station of Chop , online via one of the booking links. Then buy a second ticket from Chop (Ukraine) to Zahony (Hungary) across the border locally at the station. There are several daily trains crossing the border between Chop and Zahony. One of these conveys the sleeping cars from Kyiv and Lviv to Budapest.
If you want to travel from Ukraine to Moldova by train, buy your ticket at a train station. There are direct trains from Odessa and Kyiv to Chisinau.
To travel from Ukraine to Poland by train, buy your ticket at a train station in Ukraine. There are no online tickets available. There are night trains from Kyiv to Warsaw as well as from Lviv to Krakow, Wroclaw and Warsaw. Additionally a day train runs from Kyiv and Lviv to Przemysl.
If you want to travel from Ukraine to Romania by train, buy your ticket locally at a station in Ukraine. There are no online tickets for international journeys available.
Currently, the only border crossing with international trains between Ukraince and Romania is between Vadul Siret and Suceava. There are two daily trains, one of which runs from Vadul Siret to Bucharest. At Vadul Siret there are gauge changing facilites and a night train from Kyiv to Bucharest runs here once weekly. You also have local trains running to Vadul Siret from Chernivtsi.
Another option to travel between the two countries is the border crossing between Solotvino and Sighetu Marmatiei. You can travel to Solotvino by night train from Lviv or with local trains from Batovo. Bus connections are available from Rakhiv. Cross the border on foot to get to Sighetu. From there you can travel with night trains to Timisoara and Bucharest.
To travel from Ukraine to Russia by train, use one of the several daily train connections. There are day and night train connections available. Please use the following booking links to find schedules and ticket prices. And buy your ticket online or at a train station in Ukraine.
If you are travelling from Ukraine to Slovakia by train, buy your ticket at a train station. There are no online tickets available. However it is possible to buy an online ticket to Chop and then the ticket across the border locally in Chop at the station.
There are two daily trains between the border stations of Chop and Cierna nad Tisou. One of them conveys the sleeping cars from Kyiv and Lviv to Bratislava.
To travel from Ukraine to Turkey, first go by train to Odessa (Ukraine). Take a taxi, mini-bus or bus to the Port of Chornomorsk, 20 kilometres in the south of Odessa. From Chornomorsk continue by ferry to Istanbul. The journey time is about 30 hours. Ticket price starts from USD 80. Arrival in Istanbul is at Haydarpaşa ferry and rail terminal.
