VISA for train travel in China

Travelling China by train requires a visa. It is not that hard to get, but you have to pay for it.
The railccs recommend the following website:

More information at the railcc website:

Alas-another thing that once was. Visa do not differ if you travel by plane, train or bus or your own feet, BUT progressively China in its agesold eternal wisdom has decided to lay on moreorless same requirements the EU puts on CN-citizens: now you also need confirmed HOtel bookings for all of your stay AND copies of tickets in/out-by plane. This is now in force in all of EU and acc. to travellerfora now also in most of the hitherto ''easy'' towns like BKK etc. Fly to HKG and let anyone on the street get it for you still works-as long as that lasts.
But maybe that realrussia still gets preferential treatment?
IF you intend to run a proper travel-agency, then cough up and subscribe to TIMIC.
