Does a Eurail train pass allow you to take a bicycle?
I\'m hoping to travel from Nimes in France via Stockholm to the North Cape of Norway with a fully assembled Bicycle, next June. I\'d like to buy a Eurail ticket but can\'t find out if that is within the ticket conditions. I would appreciate if anyone out there has had experience with train travel with a fully assembled bicycle?

Hi and welcome to railcc!
The Eurail ticket does not include the transportation of a fully assembled bike. However, you can buy separate tickets for your bike on most long distance trains. These tickets are usually not available online but you need to buy them locally at train stations. On long distance trains these usually include a reservation for your bike (eg there is only a certain number of bikes allowed on each train).
Another option would be to take a storage bag for your bike with you and disassemble the bike (take off at least the front wheel). If you transport your bike like this (disassembled) you can take it on board as hand luggage and dont need an extra ticket/reservation.
While it wont be a problem to travel from France via Germany to Denmark with a fully assembled bike (of regular size, tandems are usually not allowed) you cant travel on SJ (Swedish Railways) trains.
In France, you can take your bike on most TGV services, in Germany you should travel with IC or EC trains as ICE (high speed trains) do not (yet) carry bicycles.
To get from Hamburg to Copenhagen you have to travel with the connecting services via Flensburg - Padborg - Fredericia, since the direct EC trains do not carry bikes on this route.
In Sweden you will have to disassemble your bike to be able to take it on board the trains.
If you dont want to disassemble your bike you could look into taking a ferry from Denmark or Germany to Norway; then travel up north in Norway. That way you could only get as far as Fauske (on the E6: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/bodo-fauske-narvik-bus/[/ux]) and Bodo (gateway to Lofoten: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/lofoten-norway/[/ux]).
From Sweden you could get further north to Narvik - in the end your route will depend on how long you want to bike. ;)
