At the "Albertplatz" (beyond the "Bautzener Straße") the Outer Neustadt starts. One can find lots of trendy bars, as well as trendy shops and galleries. The area is particularly popular for young people. The Alaunstraße (it starts right at the Erich Kästner monument) leads into the heart of the district. It links to the Louisenstraße, which can be described as the "main street" of the district. By the way ... In the Outer Neustadt is the largest closed Gründerzeitviertel Germany. PS: Those looking for the Erich Kästner Museum ... it is not located at the Erich Kästner monument but diagonally across the square.
Weiße Gasse
Small bar district, which has not (yet?) reached the fame of Münzgasse. It is not as crowded.
