Parking at the Tirano Rail station for the Bernina Express

Hi!

There\'s a free parking in Viale Italia close to Madonna di Tirano.
Where are you driving from to Tirano? There is a convenient direct train from Milan which you could take instead of driving.

Thank you for your answer! We are driving in from Mezzegra on the west side of Lake Como. I know there is a train from Varenna but to get there we will need to take the ferry across the lake to there but the train from Varenna to Tirano arrives about 10-15 minutes before the Bernina Express train. I am just too nervous that we would miss it!

The train on 3 May 2019 from Varenna leaves at 8:24 and arrives at 9:52 in Tirano. We have made reservations for the Bernina train to St Moritz leaving Tirano at 10:07. We would also have to plan the ferry to arrive in Varenna on time for the 8:24 train.
The return trip might also be a problem. We arrive back to Tirano at 17:32 and the next train to Varenna is at 19:08. then we have to worry about the ferry trip across the lake...

Hi Scott,

ok that makes perfect sense then not to take the train. Normally, I would say, take the train and enjoy the ferry trip; however if you have reservations on the Bernina Express then I would not want to risk the tight connection in Tirano.
