Hey, we are a young couple, planning to travel by inter rail in august (Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Holland) and since we are traveling on a budget we came up with an idea. Maybe any of you know and have tried if it is possible for example to take ONE bed for 2 people in a hostal/hotel and how is it done (prior before booking or on the spot,etc). Any other saving tips are also welcome.

Hi.
Sometimes this should be possible in larger dorms. But the stuff will see it when you enter the hostel with two big back packs and only one person is paying for it. ;)
Also sometimes there are some strange people in the dorms and maybe they don't like it and tell it to the stuff.
So try it at your own risk - but I think it is fair to pay for a good hostel.

Right, but what if I did it legally and offered for example 25 EU instead of 20 or something? Can it possibly work ?

Good question... you should ask at smaller private hostels. Because in the big ones it won't be possible. I am pretty sure. Because they are like big companies.
