Hi and welcome to rail.cc!

You can travel the whole route from Geneve to Copenhagen within one day by train. However it is a rather long journey. I recommend this connection:

Geneve 0612 - 0743 Biel/Bienn
Biel/Bienn 0749 - 0853 Basel SBB
Basel SBB 0906 - 1535 Hamburg Hbf
Hamburg Hbf 1728 - 2239 Kobenhavn H

You can buy a ticket for the whole route from German Railways at our partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn/Geneve/Kopenhagen/0600[/ux] Please use this link for your booking from German Railways to support our work, thank you! :)

However, it may be cheaper to split tickets in two: For instance from Geneve to Hamburg and from Hamburg to Copenhagen. Prices vary depending on the day you book and on the day you travel.
There is also the possibility to travel by night train (Basel to Hamburg: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/night-train/zurich-hamburg-en-470-nightjet/500[/ux], however you would need to book two separate tickets: from Geneve to Hamburg and from Hamburg to Copenhagen. Since the night train is likely to be delayed I would recommend to plan with at least two hours in between trains in Hamburg.
Important: if you split tickets (eg Geneve to Hamburg and Hamburg to Copenhagen) these are considered as two independent journeys and you wouldnt get any money back if you miss the train in Hamburg due to a delay of the previous journey. So you would need to plan with at least one to two hours in Hamburg to cope for delays.

Personally, I would prefer the overnight option as travelling the whole route during the day is a really long journey. Of course, you could also spend one night at a hotel somewhere along the route instead of going with the night train. :)
