Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (Holocaust Memorial) in Berlin was built between 2003 and 2005. It is a memorial for the in the Holocaust murdered Jews under the reign of the Nazis.
East Side Gallery
The East Side Gallery in Berlin-Friedrichshain are remnants of the Berlin Wall. They were painted after the opening on 09.11.1989 in the following year by international artists. Reach it by train from Warschauer Straße or from Ostbahnhof.

The memorial Berlin-Hohenschonhausen ("Gedenkstätte Berlin-Hohenschönhausen") is the former central prison of the State Security (Stasi) of the GDR. Almost the entire area has been preserved intact and therefore gives an authentic impression. There is also the possibility to join a public tour without appointment: Monday-Friday at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 h (from March to October only at 12:00 and 14:00 h), on weekends and public holidays every hour from 10:00 to 16:00 h. In the English language daily at 14:30 h. Adults: EUR 5, reduced: EUR 2.50 The memorial is closed on January 1st and December 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st.
Bebelplatz
On 10 May 1933, the Bebelplatz in Berlin (formerly also known as Opera Place), was the main venue of the German students planned and conducted the book-burning.
New Guard House
Neue Wache
The New Guard House (Neue Wache) is the Central Memorial of the Federal Republic of Germany for the victims of war and tyranny. In the middle of the building is a copy of the "sculpture Mother with her Dead Son" by Käthe Kollwitz, who is also called the Pietà.

The Old Museum (Altes Museum) of Berlin houses the antiquities collection of the National Museums in Berlin.
Reichstag
The Reichstag building (Reichstag) in Berlin (Germany) is located at the Platz der Republik. It is since 1999 the seat of the German Bundestag (parliament). You can visit the large glass dome on the top of the building.
Friedrichstadt-Palast
The "old" (ie the former) Friedrichstadtpalast was built in 1865. The "new" (ie the current) Friedrichstadtpalast was built in 1984. This is a revue theatre in the eastern part of the city with really good shows. It is one of the leading revue theatres in Europe. We were really fascinated by the performances and we can say: definitely worth a try!
