Hey guys, I wanna bring my small dog from Portugal to London soon!
Does any of you know if it is allowed to travel with pets on the rain?
Whats the best/cheapest route?
Thank you!

Hi Ines,

in general it is allowed on most trains to bring (small) pets with you; however there can be different rules applying in each country and on different types of trains.

When you are travelling from Portugal to London by train the normal route would be:
Night train Lisbon - Hendaye; book locally from CP or online via [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/renfe[/ux]
TGV Hendaye - Paris; book online via [ux]http://rail.shop/sncf[/ux]
Eurostar Paris - London

On the night train (Sud Expresso: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/night-train/lisbon-hendaye-th-310/74[/ux]) pets are allowed, however you have to book a whole cabin for yourself. The dog has to be transported in a cage (max 60x35x35cm; 10 kg).
On the TGV, a dog with less than 6kg in a cage or bag (max 45x30x25) costs 7€, the ticket should be available on board the train.
On the Eurostar only guide and assistance dogs are allowed; this means you would have to get to the UK by ferry, for instance from Calais to Dover; however I do not know about pets on board the P&O ferry services. You can book the ferry online at [ux]https://rail.shop/po[/ux]
From Dover to London you can travel with Southeastern trains; dogs are allowed on these services as far as I know.

Overall it seems a bit complicated, especially to get from Paris to London; you are familiar with immigration rules for dogs into the UK?
