Hey!

I've read quite a lot about the fact that Trenitalia-trains are usually late and often also for hours, so that connection trains cannot be reached. As I do have two days where I travel quite a long distance this information is quite important for me. :)

Is there someone who already did interrail in Italy and has some experiences? I'm starting at the end of August and will finish at the beginning of September.

Thank you!
Tom

Hej Tom!

I would not take these facts too serious...I have been travelling in Italy for one week last summer and all trains were perfectly on time. Especially the trains on the high speed network are usually very punctual, on the lines along the coast and in the south the possibility of longer delays is higher (but we are not speaking about hour-long delays, these are definitely exceptions).
You can check trains and punctuality in real time on www.viaggiatreno.it/viaggiatrenonew/index.jsp#
:)

I also read that you are planning on doing an Interrail trip through Italy? What kind of ticket do you intend to buy - sometimes Interrail is not the best solution... ;)

BTW there is also a German-speaking part of the forum .
