Hi

Every time I Interrail I take a flight to where I want to start from. The cheapest and quickest way to Amsterdam from London is probably through Luton airport with one of the budget airlines. I went from Aberdeen to Amsterdam through Luton last month and my flight was less than 40 quid. If you book now you are likely to get a flight from Luton for around 25 GBP. It's less environmentally friendly than other modes of transport but even if you take the Greenline coach up from Victoria it'll still work out much cheaper and faster than ferry or Eurostar.

Have a great trip.
