I wanted to know if I can use my global Eurail pass for this journey. Also would I have to book a sleeper and would I have to pay a surcharge.

Yes, you can use the night train from Vienna to Zurich with your Eurail pass. If you have a flexi pass you can make use of the 1900 rule and use one travel day only (day of arrival): [ux]https://rail.cc/en/eurail-night-train[/ux]
