The Youth Hostel in Leipzig is only a few minutes walk from the Old Town. - 480 beds in 204 rooms (2 - and 4-bed rooms, more than half of them with shower / WC) - 4 x single - 154 x 2-bed rooms (including 91 with shower / WC) - 38 x 4-bed rooms (including 18 with shower / WC) We stayed several times at this hostel (I think three times). And it was always good! But I always avoid the breakfast as both rooms for breakfast are extremely small. I prefer to have breakfast somewhere in town. *** Important Note! *** In Germany a Youth Hostel Association membership is required for this hostel.

Never tested by my own, as just discovered on my last stay in Dresden. But have a look on it while searching for an accommodation in Dresden. How to get there by public transportation: with the tram line 10 you get into the city center Rooms: 4 single rooms 5 double rooms 1 apartment

Very good location - right on the river Elbe. There are seven single and double rooms available. I've stayed here as a guest - both: in the restaurant and in the guesthouse. The restaurant is cozy and you can - if you sit on the window - watch the ships on the river Elbe. Very friendly staff. The rooms are basic but fine.

Steigenberger InterCity Hotels are ideal for train travelers, as they are located on or close to a railway station. The InterCityHotel Dresden is located on the main railway station and therefore directly at the beginning of the pedestrian street (Prager Straße). The old town is just a few walking minutes. The connection to the tram network is great. In InterCityHotels the hotel card is also the ticket for public transport. The InterCity Hotel Dresden has 156 rooms. Guests can check in the InterCityHotel Dresden from 14:00h and have to leave the room on departure at 12:00h. I find it very pleasant. Breakfast is EUR 13 (May 2015).

Only a few minutes behind the main train station and therefore very convenient for train travelers.

In the trendy part of town called Neustadt on a 10/15 minute walk from the town centre and near Dresden Neustadt station is the Kangaroo-Stop Hostel. This nicely decorated Hostel is very well priced and has a good service. There is a free to use kitchen and living room, beds a really OK. The staff is also very friendly.
