Hello travllers!
I am wondering if there are any direct trains between Budapest and Kiev? I ve found some night train but I can\'t find any information about timetable and prices. Do you know if that train s still going? Prices, timetable? Standard of the sleeping compartments?

Hi Ukashh,
There is one daily overnight Train from Budapest Nyugati to Kiev. Look here: [u]https://rail.cc/en/night-train/budapest-kiev-ic-34-82/513[/u]
I think, this train contains regularly sleeping-compartments, because it is a "talgo" and the wheels have to be changed at the border (because of the different size of the tracks in former soviet republics)

The night train Budapest - Kiev which Tobi mentioned does not run anymore; it has been cut back from Budapest to Lviv (with approximately the same timings in 2018 ).
There is a new direct night train Vienna - Budapest - Lviv - Kyiv; running daily. The "train" is in fact a single sleeping car of Ukrainian Railways; there are regular sleeping compartments with one to three berths available.
Budapest Keleti 19:40 - 17:11 Kyiv Pass
One way ticket is 45,20€ plus 18€ for a reservation in a three bed compartment. If you want to travel without other passengers in your compartment the ticket is 67,80€ (1st class) plus 56€ for the reservation.
Buy tickets locally in Budapest.
Restaurant car available from Budapest to Zahony (border Hungary/Romania). You can get breakfast the following morning at the station of Lviv (arr 10:00, dep 11:27).
As an alternative to the direct night train you could also travel from Budapest to Zahony during the day (schedules/tickets at [ux]http://rail.shop/mav[/ux] then buy a ticket across the border to Chop (buy locally at Zahony); then take a domestic night train from Chop to Kyiv (schedules/tickets at [ux]https://rail.shop/infobus[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/uz[/ux]
This would be an interesting option if you want to arrive early in Kyiv; you might also save some money; on the other hand the direct night train provides a comfortably late departure from Budapest and the option to have dinner in the restaurant car.
