Mercat de la Boqueria (Mercat de Sant Joseph) is located just a side step from the famous street La Rambla. A place for both locals and tourists. The market offers an amazing variety of fresh fruits and juices, meat, vegetables, fish, spices, cheese, olives, flowers and ham on 13.500 square meters. Open: Monday - Saturday 8 - 20:30pm. The market is said to exist since the 13th century. In the 19th century several other markets were merged together and also a roof was built. In 1861 also fruits and vegetables were allowed to be sold on the market - before it had been used mainly for meat.
