Dears,

I would like to travel with my dog (Golden Retriever) from Budapest to Lisbon.
Is there any possibility if I buy a ticket for her to travel with me on the train through all the countries (Hungary, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal)?
She\'s really sensitive, so she can not travel long hours through in the luggage places in a box, in dark without me.

If you have any suggestion, idea please, let me know!

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

R.

Hi and welcome to railcc!

This is quite tricky problem - there are different rules for (large) dogs in every country. You will need to check with every railway company in every country to see their individual rules for dogs.
Also, tickets for dogs are usually not available online, so you will need to buy most of these tickets locally at a train station.

Basic information about the trip from Budapest to Lisbon: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-lisbon[/ux]

To get to Portugal you will need to take the night train from either Madrid or Irun: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/night-train-irun-madrid-lisbon/[/ux]

Budapest to Munich: Half price fare for your dog; ask at a MAV station in Hungary
Munich to Paris: Half price fare for your dog; buy locally in Munich
Paris to Hendaye/Spanish border: half price fare for your dog; available online from SNCF at [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf[/ux] or locally in France
Hendaye to Lisbon by night train: extra ticket required (30€), available online from RENFE at [ux]https://rail.shop/renfe/[/ux] - it is necessary that you travel in your own compartment (Cama Preferente or Cama Gran Clase), I dont think it is possible to travel with your dog together with other travellers.
