Calanque de Port-Pin

The Calanques in the French department of Bouches-du-Rhône are small, fjord-like bays with very clear water where you can swim very well. The Calanque de Port-Pin officially belongs to Marseilles, but is quickly accessible from Cassis. From the city center to the Calanque is about one hour walk. The Calanque port pin is one of the most beautiful Calanques, as it is lined with pine trees and has a sandy beach. Note: In July and August, the trails in the Calanques are closed due to the high fire danger!

Calanque du Port de Pomègues

The Calanques in the French departement Bouches-du-Rhône are small, fjord-like bays with very clear water, where it can swim very well. The "Calanque du Port de Pomègues" is located on the "Ile de Pomègues", the southernmost island of the Frioul archipelago. After arriving by ferry on the "Ile de Ratonneau", cross the dam "Digue Berry" and follow the path shortly before the "Tour de Poméguet". Then turn left, after a few meters the Calanque is reached. Think on good footwear, food and sunscreen (on the island there is hardly any shade!).

The "Calanque de Pousterlo" is located on the "Ile de Pomègues", the southernmost island of the Frioul archipelago. After arriving by ferry on the "Ile de Ratonneau", cross the dam "Digue Berry" and follow the path up to the signage "Calanque de Pousterlo". Don't forget good footwear, food and sunscreen (on the island there is hardly any shade!). In addition, bathing shoes are beneficial!

Plage du Grand Soufre

The "Plage du Grand soufre" is a beautiful beach on the "Ile de Ratonneau". Follow, upon arrival by ferry, the way toward the dam "Digue Berry", then turn right there. After about 50 meters, the beach is reached. Despite easy access to the beach, it is less crowded and is great for relaxing.

Jardin de la Magalone

The "Jardin de la Magalone" is a beautiful, 1.4-hectare park in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille, opposite the "Cité Radieuse". The park is not well known, is frequented relatively little and therefore invites you to relax. In the park there is a Bastide, which was constructed between 1790 and 1810 by the architect Pierre Puget. Since 1948, the Bastide is classified as a "Monument historique". To get to the "Jardin de la Magalone", the best is to use the bus 21 from the station "Castellane" and get off at "Le Corbusier".

Parc Valmer

Very nice park located west of the city with views of the sea, right on the "Corniche Kennedy". In the park there is the "Villa Valmer", a 1865 neo-Renaissance villa built in a rich oil and soap factory. Unfortunately, the villa can not be visited, but a visit to the park is worthwhile in any case. The "Parc Valmer" is distinguished by its lush, exotic flora. Nevertheless, there are also species of native trees, such as olive trees, strawberry trees and Aleppo pines. Tip: at the edge of the park there are two picnic tables with a great view of the sea! To get to the "Parc Valmer", the best is to use the bus 83 from the station "Vieux Port" and get off at "Parc Valmer".

Anse de Malmousque

The "Anse de Malmousque" is a small, framed by rocks pebble cove west of the city. From here you have a great view of the "Îlot Degaby". To reach the "Anse de Malmousque", the best is to use the bus 83 from the station "Vieux Port" and get off at "Endoume", then just follow the signs.

Parc Balnéaire du Prado

The "Parc Balnéaire du Prado" is a great beach and leisure complex in the 8th arrondissement of Marseille. Here are six beaches, "Prado Plage Nord", "Prado Plage Sud", "Plage de l'Huveaune", "Plage Borély", "Plage de Bonneveine" and "Plage de la Vieille Chapelle". The beaches are equipped with showers, toilets, first aid, snacks and luggage storage facilities (from mid-June to early September). Behind the beaches are spacious green areas with playgrounds. Interesting: the gravel of the "Plages du Prado" comes from the shafts of the two metro lines! To get to the "Parc Balnéaire du Prado" use bus number 19 from the station "Castellane" and get off at "La Plage".

Calanque Blanche

The "Calanque Blanche" is located very close to Les Goudes. Unlike many other Calanques, the "Calanque Blanche" is in spite of an easy access, much less frequented than others. Best reached by bus number 19 from "Castellane". Get off at the last stop "La Madrague de Montredon", then change to line 20. Get off at "Calanque Blanche".

Cap Croisette

The "Cap Croisette" is considered the "Land's End" of Marseille. It is located in the south of Marseille, in the district of Les Goudes. To get to the "Cap Croisette", pass the restaurant "La Baie des Singes" and a diving center. After a few minutes the "Cap Croisette" is reached. Here the time seems to stand still, you only hear the sea and the wind, Enjoy a fantastic view of the Mediterranean sea!

Parc Borély

The "Parc Borély" is the most visited park of Marseille. On 17 acres you can sunbathe, walk, ride a bicycle, rollerblading, etc. On the lake there is the possibility for kayaking. Well worth seeing is also the botanical garden. The "Parc Balnéaire du Prado" with its beaches is in walking distance. Parc du 26ème Centenaire

The Parc du 26ème Centenaire is a very beautiful, 10-acre park in the middle of the city. It was created in 2001 on the former site of the Prado station. In the park 26 redwoods point on the 2600-year history of Marseille. The park has four themed gardens (Provencal, Middle Eastern, Asian and African), which should reflect the multiculturalism of the city.

Calanque de Callelongue

Calanque de Sugiton

Best to take the bus number 21 from station Castellane and continues to the last stop Luminy. From there it is about 45 minute walk. The Calanque de Sugiton has a pebble beach and a small island. Calanque d'En-Vau

The Calanque d'En Vau is located on Marseille metropolitan area, but is quickly accessible from Cassis. From the city center it takes about 1.5 hours. The Calanque d'En Vau considered the most beautiful Calanque, but it is also somewhat difficult to access (no fear of heights).
