Hello all,
on 23rd of June we traveled from Munich to Fussen and around 7 pm we reached Fusson by regional train 57356. we forgot our backpack which we put it up and we just took our luggage and went out. when we reached hotel after half an hour we remembered we forgot the backpack . all places were closed and next two days were holidays. we just get help from friends in Germany and call the hotline and filled up the form online in lost and found. we took a taxi to follow the train but we could not find the train.
now its almost 2 weeks from that day and we still desperately searching for the backpack. it was a mac book pro laptop inside and shaver and chargers and international driving licence and 3 portable hard disk , some personal stuffs and some files for our business.
If any one can help us to find our backpack or guide us if there is anything else we should do to find it , we would appreciate.

Hi!

I assume you have been contacting DB (German Railways) Lost&Found office?
If they havent found anything (an item lost on board the train should end up there) you could still try to contact the lost&found of the city of Füssen: [ux]https://www.stadt-fuessen.de/4311.html[/ux]

Hi Flo,

Thanks for your answer. The website is in German and I don\'t know what to do. I just ask a taxi driver in Fussen to go there and ask if they find something but he said no. But still the problem is he couldn\'t talk in English and I couldn\'t talk in German! So I texted him via whatsapp with help of google translate!
And also a police officer in Augsburg also told me that he called them.
By the way. I think I tried all of these. And from yesterday my id in DB is not working!!!

You can claim a lost item via the online form [ux]https://www.fundservice.noncd.db.de/vuginternet/view/fundservice.faces[/ux] up to four weeks after you lost the item.

After that you can also use the phone number listed here [ux]https://www.bahn.de/p/view/service/fundservice.shtml[/ux] - attention, this is a premium line, costing 0,59€/min from a German landline, different fares can apply from mobile phone or from other countries.

Yes we already filled up the form but from yesterday we can\'t enter the online search!!!
After two weeks they blocked us. Isn\'t it crazy ? We can\'t call because we don\'t know the language to follow what it says!!

Hm...thats a pity... :(

You could try to contact the DB in UK via 0044 (0) 8718 80 80 66, but I dont know if they can help you with lost&found claims. Another option would be the general DB information number 0180 6 99 66 33 (German number).

Hi MarTia,

sorry to hear about your backpack :(

I\'ve lost luggage in German trains twice over the years, and my experience with the lost luggage office of DB has been positive each time. I always got my items back for a small fee. Frankly, I don\'t think they would discriminate against you for not being or speaking German or "block" you from the system (though stranger things have happened) - this is likely just a technical glitch. If you\'re having trouble making inquiries by phone, you could ask someone at your Hotel (or the local tourist information) to fill out the from for you in German.

Hi MarTia,

that\'s really unfortunate - I\'m sorry. I lost my luggage on long distance trains each time. I would say on a local train like from Füssen to Munich, it\'s more likely for things to be stolen, because the train stops more often and it\'s easier to get on and off unnoticed. Also, after the trip, the train usually make the same jouney back - so there would have been other passengers coming in after you and anyone could have taken it. Sorry to bring you more bad news :(

My advice would be go get help with the online form or the hotline from someone who speaks German.

Thank you Quenzon,
we went to police station in Augsburg and they were really helping us and tried to call some people but we went there on Monday! 2 days passed and we could not find our backpack. they told us its rare that some robbery happen in trains. they said may be the one who check the train took your bag and it was holidays after that and he took your bag in his/her home and will bring it to the office when he will go to work!. we left Germany on Tuesday and just check the online form and we dont know what else we could do.
we cant call hotline from Iran and since it has costs for people in Germany too I cant ask my friends to call them constantly.
if you think there is something more that we can do, please help us to find it.
I read somewhere that may be some passenger took it and give it to city administration office which has lost and found there too. we checked Fussen city but for checking the Munich again there is a website in German! and I wrote them an email in English and they sent me an answer in German directed me to a website which is also in German!

Dear Quenzon,
Thank you very much.
Yes in backpack it was almost all the things mentioned here:glasses, umbrella, laptop, some personal stuffs, keys and driving license with the name!
But in lost and found they didn\'t find anything.????
Maybe someone took it. Laptop is not turned on yet.
The problem is when i go to the link, its in german again and when I make it in English the page totally change !
