Hi all,

I need to board in Sibiu, at 19:17, and end my trip in Vienna, at 08:21, using this train >> https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/bucharest-vienna-en-346/49
Does "the 7 PM rule" apply in my case?

Note that "the 7 PM rule" refers to "trains that depart after 7 p.m. (19:00)". Here is the confusion....

"depart" = " person boarding time " (which is Sibiu (19:17)) ?
OR
"depart" = " the trains first station " (which is in Bucharest (14:00)) ?

Kind regards,
Bogdan

Hi Bogdan.
A good question... and you are right, one could misunderstand it!

The departure time concerning the Interrail 19:00 h rule for night trains is related to the time the person is boarding the train.
Therefore in your case in Sibiu at 19:17 h.
For you: you need only ONE travel day. :)

And if you like the free information on rail.cc, support it with your Interrail pass purchase via our partner link at no extra costs for you: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Pete :)

Hi Pete!

Thank you very much for the quick and concise reply. At the same time, it was the much awaited good news. I was really concerned about this.

I will recommend others to buy from here and I will do this myself next time.
As you could tell... I already purchased the interrail pass, from the official website, and I was afraid ???? that I\'ve done a big mistake. I was seeking help.

The support here on rail.cc is much better than the one from the official support service, which seems to be very very slow.

You are doing a great job and I\'ll support you as I can now and in the future in order to keep the community alive!

Hi Bogdan.

No worries. Next time. And thank you, that\'s nice to hear. :)
The shop of interrail.eu is one to one the same like the one we forward too, just a partner version in rail.cc colors. :)

Let me know if you need more help on other parts of your route... and enjoy your trip, Pete :)
