Me and my boyfriend are hoping to travel using interrail in july so as you can imagine the planning has to be speedy. We have general ideas as to placeswe want to go and places we want to avoid...I definately don't want to be just travelling city to city and would love to spend some time around mountains lakes etc. To be completely honest I'm not too fussy where exactly, ie. any country! although obviously the more beautiful the better. anyway!.. my question is what mountain resorts or the like are easy to get to by interrail and not too far from another possible stop so that train journey is not massively long?

would be grateful for any help with this question and also any brief advice as to where to start as far as route is concerned...its slightly bewildering!

Hi,
Switzerland: easy to get to and the excellent trains go right into the most scenic areas. There are many discounts on trains and boats for Interrail pass holders - see the official Interrail site - and, of course, it has borders with several other countries on the Interrail global pass.

July will, however, be high season so I believe it's wise to book accomodation ahead of travelling. On the plus side: you'll meet many other Interrailers.

Have a great one
