My wife and I have Interrail Global passes (First Class).

Am confused how they are used on the train line Brig to Zermatt.

Is Glacier Express the only company to run on this route?

Or is there a local train that can be boarded at Brig that does not need a reservation but can just be boarded with the interrail pass.

Wherever I look I seem to get conflicting answers.

Hi!

I hope you bought your official Interrail passes through the rail.cc partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] to support our work. ;)

The train line from Brig via Visp to Zermatt is operated by Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB): https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-company/matterhorn-gotthard-bahn/94

MGB operates frequent regional trains as well as the Glacier Express between Disentis/Mustér and Zermatt (on the remaining part from St Moritz to Disentis, the Glacier Express is operated by Rhätische Bahn (RhB): https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-company/rhaetische-bahn/63)

The regional trains can be used without a seat reservation.
The full schedule is available here: [ux]http://www.fahrplanfelder.ch/fileadmin/fap_pdf_fields/2017/140.pdf[/ux]
Alternatively you can also use a schedule planner such as [ux]http://plan.rail.cc/[/ux]
