Griekenland: Treinkaartjes voor Griekenland kunnen lokaal of online worden gekocht. Voorafgaande tickets voor Intercity verbindingen zijn goedkoper dan het normale tarief en zijn alleen online beschikbaar.

GR Griekenland - AL Albanië

If you want to travel from Greece to Albania, you have to take a bus. There is no passenger railway connection available between Greece and Albania.

There are direct buses on the route from Thessaloniki (Greece) to Tirana (Albania). Thessaloniki is connected to the railway network of Greece and as well to international destinations.

GR Griekenland - BG Bulgarije

If you want to travel from Greece to Bulgaria by train, buy your train ticket locally at the train station in Thessaloniki. There are no online tickets available.

There are two rail connections between Greece and Bulgaria, however only the line from Thessaloniki to Sofia via the Strimon/Kulata border crossing is open at the moment.

GR Griekenland - IT Italië

Om van Griekenland naar Italië te reizen, moet u gebruik maken van de veerbooten van Minoan Lines of Superfast Ferries. Deze varen van Patras via Igoumenitsa naar Bari, Ancona, Venetië en Trieste. Alle veerboothavens behalve Igoumenitsa hebben spoorwegverbindingen. Patras ligt op de Peloponneses en heeft een spoorwegverbinding naar Athene. Er is momenteel echter een busdienst tussen Kiato en Patras. Igoumenitsa ligt in het noorden van Griekenland en heeft busdiensten van Kalambaka en Thessaloniki. Vanuit Bari en Ancona zijn er regelmatig treinverbindingen tussen steden als Rome, Napels, Florence, Bologna en Milaan.

GR Griekenland - MK Macedonië

Buy your train tickets from Greece to Macedonia locally at a station. There is only one railway line across the border, running from Thessaloniki to Skopje. The night train from Thessaloniki via Skopje to Belgrade is the only train running across the border.

An alternative way to travel between the two countries is to travel by train to Florina, then cross the border with a taxi and continue from Bitola in Macedonia by train to Skopje.

If you want to travel from Greece to Serbia by train, buy your train ticket locally at a train station in Greece.

There is one direct night train available from Thessaloniki (Greece) via Skopje (Macedonia) to Belgrade (Serbia). If this night train does not run, you have to travel from Thessaloniki (Greece) via Sofia (Bulgaria) to Belgrade (Serbia).

GR Griekenland - TR Turkije

To travel from Greece to Turkey, you have to use a bus. There is no direct train anymore. A train connection could be via Sofia (Bulgaria), but takes a lot more of time than by bus.
There are several direct (overnight) bus connections available from the bigger Greek cities (Athens, Thessaloniki, ...) to Istanbul (Turkey). Have a look at the links.

To book your ticket online, use the following city names to find connections.
Athens = Atina
Thessaloniki = Selanik
Istanbul = Istanbul Avrupa
