Hi!

I want to book a train from Venice to Trieste on the 10th of July 10:41. I have read the information on how to make reservations for Trenitalia as an Interrail-traveler, but do not suceed.

When I have clicked "View other offers", selected my preferred class and then want to select "Global Pass" in the Offer menu there is no option that says Global pass! There are several other offers, but not Global pass.

Is the train from Venice to Trieste (Regionale veloce) not included in Interrail? What am I doing wrong otherwise?

I would very much appreciate your help with information on how to make this reservation.

Thank you.

Hi Martin and welcome to railcc!

To travel with a Regionale Veloce train you do not need a reservation. :)
See: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/regionale-veloce/168[/ux]
Simply hop on any train and travel to Trieste.

In fact, reservations are not possible at all for Regionale Veloce; thats why there is not "Global Pass" option.

In Italy, you need reservations only for the high speed trains "Le Frecce": Frecciarossa, Frecciabianca and Frecciargento; for travel with Intercity trains a reservation is optional. No reservation needed/possible for Regionale Veloce and Regionale trains.
Interrail is not valid on Italo high speed trains.

Support our work and purchase your official Interrail pass via our partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail/[/ux] - thank you! :)

Thank you for your reply! A follow up question that I\'m not sure if I understood correctly: can I show my Interrail card on the train and not pay anything at all for my journey on the Regionale Veloce train? I\'m new to Interrail so not really sure how it works :)

You\'re welcome. ;)

Yes, you can simply board the train and travel with your Interrail pass.

The Interrail pass serves as your ticket for all trains of the participating train companies. For some trains (usually high speed trains and night trains) an additional reservation is needed. On all other trains (suburban trains, regional trains and many long distance trains as well) no reservation is needed and you can simply board the train with your Interrail ticket.
