Train from Budapest to Ljublijana

Can anyone please advise if there are Direct trains between Budapest and Ljubljana , journey time and whether booking needs to be done in advance . thanks

Hi and welcome to railcc!

There will be one direct daily train in 2019; plus an additional night train in summer:

You can buy tickets online from MAV START (Hungarian Railways) at [ux]https://rail.shop/mav/[/ux] or locally at a train station. Reservation is not compulsory and tickets wont sell out; however if you book in advance you can get cheaper "Fortuna" tickets.
